The conflict between Israel and Hamas has escalated significantly over the past few weeks, with the Israeli military carrying out numerous airstrikes on Gaza. Israel has been targeting Hamas positions, but the strikes have resulted in high civilian casualties, as many locations hit were schools and mosques sheltering displaced Palestinians. At least 26 people were killed in one strike in Deir al-Balah, Gaza. The ongoing bombardment has also caused a humanitarian crisis, with shortages of food, water, and medical supplies affecting thousands of civilians.
Additionally, Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group, has been involved in cross-border skirmishes with Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. Rockets fired from Lebanon have struck Israeli towns, including a hit on a restaurant in Haifa that injured six people. The situation has raised fears of a broader regional conflict, especially as Hezbollah’s attacks grow more frequent and deadly
